Welcome to MAKLINKXCAN.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MAKLINKXCAN website, publications, media platforms, conferences, events, business recognition programs, and all related products and services.

By accessing our website, registering for an event, submitting content, purchasing a service, or otherwise engaging with MAKLINKXCAN, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue the use of our website and services.

1. Using Our Website & Services

MAKLINKXCAN provides professional publishing, media, conferences, networking, business recognition, and related business services.

You agree to use our website and services lawfully, responsibly, and respectfully.

You must not:

  • Use our services for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
  • Submit false or misleading information.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or networks.
  • Upload malicious software or interfere with website security.
  • Misuse personal information belonging to other users.
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.

We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms are violated or where necessary to protect our website, services, users, or reputation.

2. Our Services

MAKLINKXCAN operates through its core platforms:

  • MAK Series – Business Publishing
  • LinkX Channel – Media & Digital Content
  • CAN Events – Conferences, Exhibitions & Networking

We may introduce, modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time.

Publication opportunities, media participation, conference registrations, sponsorships, awards, advertising, and promotional activities remain subject to editorial, operational, and administrative review.

We reserve the right to accept, reject, edit, postpone, suspend, or remove any submission, participation, or commercial engagement where reasonably necessary.

3. Conferences & Events

Participants, including delegates, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, media representatives, volunteers, and attendees, are expected to maintain professional, respectful, and lawful conduct.

Participants are responsible for:

  • Travel and accommodation
  • Insurance
  • Visa and immigration requirements
  • Personal belongings
  • Compliance with venue policies and applicable laws

We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any participant whose conduct is unlawful, disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, unsafe, or inconsistent with the professional standards of MAKLINKXCAN.

4. Registration, Payments & Refunds

Conference registration is confirmed only after full payment has been received.

Registration fees may be subject to applicable taxes and payment processing fees.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method within 30 business days following approval.

Bank charges, currency conversion fees, taxes, and non-recoverable third-party processing costs may be deducted where permitted by law.

If MAKLINKXCAN cancels an event for reasons within its reasonable control, participants may receive either:

  • A full refund; or
  • A credit towards another MAKLINKXCAN event.

MAKLINKXCAN is not responsible for travel, accommodation, visa, insurance, or other personal expenses resulting from an event cancellation unless required by applicable law.

5. Registration Transfers

If a registered participant is unable to attend, a registration may be transferred once:

  • To another eligible participant; or
  • To another MAKLINKXCAN event of equal or lesser registration value within twelve (12) months.

Transfer requests must be submitted in writing and remain subject to approval.

6. Invitation Letters & Visa

Invitation letters may be issued to registered participants where appropriate.

The issuance of an invitation letter does not guarantee visa approval.

Participants are solely responsible for obtaining passports, visas, permits, travel documents, and complying with immigration requirements.

Visa refusals do not automatically qualify for a refund unless expressly stated in the applicable event registration terms.

7. Insurance

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, medical, accident, health, and personal property insurance.

MAKLINKXCAN does not provide insurance coverage for delegates, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, or attendees.

8. Photography, Recording & Media

Photography, filming, livestreaming, and audio recording may take place during MAKLINKXCAN events.

By attending our events, you consent to the use of photographs, video, and audio recordings for editorial, educational, promotional, marketing, publicity, and archival purposes.

Participants wishing to opt out should notify MAKLINKXCAN before the event. While reasonable efforts will be made, this may not always be possible during public sessions or group photography.

Unauthorized recording of presentations or conference sessions may be prohibited unless prior permission has been granted.

9. Code of Conduct

MAKLINKXCAN is committed to providing a professional, respectful, inclusive, and safe environment.

Participants must not engage in:

  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Abusive language
  • Violence
  • Illegal activities
  • Disruptive conduct

We reserve the right to remove any participant without refund where their behaviour negatively affects the event or other participants.

10. Awards & Business Recognition

Business Recognition programs acknowledge professional achievement, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, organizational excellence, and contributions to industry and society.

Recognition is based on MAKLINKXCAN's published criteria and independent evaluation.

Recognition does not constitute certification, accreditation, government approval, investment advice, legal qualification, or professional licensing.

11. Commercial Services

We offer advertising, sponsorships, publishing, media production, digital marketing, conference management, exhibition opportunities, and related business services.

Commercial engagements may be governed by separate quotations, proposals, invoices, or written agreements.

Where applicable, those agreements take precedence over these Terms.

Acceptance of advertising or sponsorship does not constitute endorsement by MAKLINKXCAN.

12. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, branding, publications, articles, magazines, videos, graphics, podcasts, conference materials, digital assets, and website content are owned by MAKLINKXCAN or their respective owners.

No content may be copied, reproduced, modified, republished, distributed, sold, or commercially used without prior written permission.

13. User Content

By submitting articles, videos, research, images, company profiles, interviews, presentations, or other materials, you confirm that:

  • You own the content or have permission to use it.
  • The content does not infringe the rights of others.
  • The information is accurate and lawful.

Unless otherwise agreed, you retain ownership of your content while granting MAKLINKXCAN a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit for formatting, promote, archive, distribute, and display it across our platforms.

14. Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your information in accordance with that policy.

15. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites.

These websites operate independently of MAKLINKXCAN.

We are not responsible for their content, services, availability, security, or privacy practices.

16. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Our publications, events, media, and services are provided for general informational and professional purposes only.

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, current, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAKLINKXCAN shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our services.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

17. Force Majeure

MAKLINKXCAN shall not be responsible for delays, interruptions, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters
  • Severe weather
  • Pandemics
  • Government restrictions
  • Labour disputes
  • Internet or power outages
  • Venue closures
  • Technical failures
  • Civil unrest

Where appropriate, we may reschedule, postpone, modify, or cancel services or events.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MAKLINKXCAN, its directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, and partners against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms;
  • Your misuse of our services; or
  • Your infringement of another person's legal rights.

19. Electronic Communications

By using our services, you consent to receive notices, invoices, confirmations, receipts, policy updates, and other communications electronically.

Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for written communication where permitted by law.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time.

The latest version published on our website will apply from the date of publication.

Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable written agreements, constitute the entire agreement between MAKLINKXCAN and the user regarding the relevant services.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.

23. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario unless otherwise required by applicable law.
